There has never been as much tumult in this market as during the past year. Why have there been such different experiences in different markets? How can you assess the prospects of any particular market? How can you succeed in any particular market? This introduction will outline the topics and lay the foundation for the range of material to be covered during the conference.

  5. European Market and Regulatory Developments  (10:45-11:45)
This year past year witnessed the transition of the UK Directory Enquiry (DQ) market from a monopoly to a competitive environment. This long-awaited and much watched transition is just one country that has made the transition in Europe-Norway, Ireland, Germany, and others have made the transition also, with vastly different results. The US and Australia are undergoing transitions as well. This session will offer an overview of European developments.

Ms. Fabienne Brison, Of Counsel, Project Manager, NautaDutilh N.V.

  6. International Associations in the Directory Market (11:45-12:00)
Directory Inquiry and Directory Publishing have traditionally represented two distinct markets within the directory services umbrella. With the changes underway through the globe, these barriers are being challenged and opportunities for integrated directories are arising that previously did not exist. In this sessions, leaders from directory associations will discuss what their respective associations offer to the converging industry.

  10. Wireless Market Opportunities  (3:00-5:00)
In many countries the number of wireless phones has surpassed the number of wired phones, making their focused consideration essential. There are two major aspects to consider with respect to the wireless directory market. The first is the fact that the wireless directory market is distinct from the wired market because of factors such as caller mobility, capabilities of "smart phones," and demographics. The second is that the growth of wireless phones has created a demand for directory services that can deliver wireless listings-and these services are largely absent today.
