A new  'Association for the European Interworking of Directory Inquiry services' (EIDQ Association) was launched in April 1999 to obtain an appropriate organization adapted to the changing environment, procedures for making decisions and to be able to engage in funded activities. The association is still based in Europe but open for non-European members if they have a relevant interest either as supplier of information for recipients in Europe or acting as recipient in relation to European suppliers. The EIDQ has a current membership of 29 companies.
